Blushing

Blushing is typically caused when you feel excitement or anxiety about a certain situation. In most cases studied, they have found that the body reacts to these conditions by sending a rush of blood to the cheek area which causes blushing. At many times this can be quite embarrassing. There is good news however; there are many different ways to stop blushing when in front of others. Depending on how severe your blushing is, this will determine what type of treatment will work for you.

Normally people that blush have a lot have anxiety issues as well. Normally what happens is they get anxious just thinking about being around other people, places, or things and that makes them blush. For people that suffer with anxiety issues, having this condition treated will normally end their blushing sessions. Most individuals that have severe cases of blushing may need to undergo therapy. There is a form of therapy called CBT, which helps patients by working with anxiety treatment and changing the way they think about things. They also use a technique that helps to expose the person that suffers from blushing to situations that may cause blushing. This helps them identify the problems that may arise in the future and to deal with them in a more constructive way.

There are medications that can be prescribed to help with blushing. But most of these medications are directed at the condition of anxiety, because anxiety has been found to be the major cause for people that blush. Most often, this is where the doctor's focus will be when treating any type of blushing condition. Normally when taking anxiety medication, this allows the patient to relax, and while relaxed this prevents blushing from occurring. Normally any type of blushing that is medically related should be talked over with your doctor for the correct treatment. Because of medical conditions, someone can actually be suffering from something more devastating than just blushing. It is very possible they could have kidney problems, because this also causes severe blushing.

There are cases of blushing that have nothing to do with a medical condition. This person is not suffering from anxiety, and doesn't need any medical attention. In these cases there are other things someone can do to prevent blushing. If you catch yourself blushing, do your best to try not to think about it and in most cases this works. This might sound like its too easy but if you practice this over and over you'll find that this is very helpful. When blushing, also try to control your breathing, your breathing has a great deal to do with blushing. If not breathing correctly your body does not get the oxygen it needs to certain areas. In this process your body will send more blood where it is needed and in most cases that's to your cheeks.

There are other techniques you can use as well, and some of these techniques are very effective, one of them is called the avoidance technique. The avoidance technique works by thinking about something entirely different or changing the way you feel about a situation that makes you more comfortable, thus allowing you not to blush. This technique works well and should be used often however; it will only work if you continue to use it over and over, this technique must be perfected in order for it to come naturally to you.

And lastly, try to think about situations that make you uncomfortable, these situations can be avoided, and by avoiding them this will allow you to understand what causes you to blush. Once you understand that these particular situations are causing you to blush, these are areas that you can work on to prevent blushing in the future.
